Why is crib bedding so expensive?
I think buying crib bedding sets is a big waste of money. The only things you really use are the crib sheet and the bedskirt. The American Society of Pediatrics released a report that says you should not use a bumper until they get to a certain age. Why pay over $145 for a crib bedding set when you can buy a crib sheet and bedskirt for about $50?
I don't understand why it's so expensive...My Queen set wasn't that expensive.
I paid $60 for my daughters, at Walmart. Had EBay and Craigslist been around when my daughter was born, I would have paid even less.
I totally agree with you! It is a waste of money, wish I had actually believed that when people told me! A lot of stuff you don't 'need'. But, someone somewhere will buy it, and as long as that happens, they will keep making it and charging an arm and a leg for it!
Because they can make it that much and people will still buy it. I use bumper pads in my sons crib as does everyone else I know.
Because they crank up the price for everything with the word "baby" on it, such as "baby" yogurt, "baby" juice, etc. You can save a lot of money and just buy regular stuff…
All you need are a few crib sheets, that’s all I have ever used in the crib, never used bumpers….
And they know that new mothers will buy all this stuff because they don’t know they won’t need it, they usually learn by the second child…
they know people have to buy bedding for their children even if they dont get it for themselves so they up the prices.

I’m with you, just get a sheet. or better yet, co-sleep and then you can just buy your own bedding
because they know that moms and dads and grandparents will do and pay anything to get their children the best.
Just like baby’s grandparents just bought him or her a new $900 crib. And his or her great aunts are getting a $800 dresser. They want the best for the new grandbaby so they’re willing to dish.
