Where can I buy a crib bedding set for a reasonable price?
I went to Walmart to buy crib bedding and found one for about $75. Burlington had one I liked for about $150.
Is it just me or does this seem like a lot of money! All I want is a cute, very basic crib bedding set that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Anyone know where I can look?
Yes. Use this website. Click on Crib Bedding in the far left margin. There are major retailers like Walmart and Kmart if you want to buy new crib bedding. But the real money savings is in the EBay auctions where you can buy used crib bedding starting at $0.99 and up.
But the best way to save money is to ask yourself if you really need to buy a crib bedding set. You can get away with just buying a crib sheet. They say you should not use bumpers and blankets anyway until your baby is old enough to turn over. So do you REALLY even need them? Just make sure your baby is dressed warm so he does not get too cold. Also, toddler beds are the same size as a crib mattress so you can buy a set for that when your baby is old enough for blankets. The bumpers are more trouble than they are worth. Yes they look better when you have family and friends over but my baby learned to stand on them so she can get up higher. She also learned how to pull the string and untie them so I took them out of her crib.
Right. Use eBay. I got one for $70, 7 pieces, and it was a set that cost $169 at BabiesRUs. (there you only get 4 pieces.)
In my 7 pc set is:
1 Comforter, 1 crib sheet, 1 window valance, 1 diaper stacker, 1 bumper pad, 1 dust ruffle and a decorative pillow that matches the set.
In the 4 pc set at the store is
1 comforter, 1 crib sheet, 1 bumper pad and one dust ruffle.
Plus the cool thing about eBay is if you are buying the set from someone, they most likely have other matching pieces to go with it like lamps and wall hangings and mobiles. You can buy them all together to save on shipping.
To buy new crib bedding, Walmart seriously is your best bet. Crib bedding is so over rated. Most mothers keep there baby in a bassinet for the first 5-6mths so by the time they are placed in the crib the bumper pads are now unsafe. I love Walmarts crib bedding. I got my sons there and now my daughters will come from there also. looks on-line the have so many designs. just stay away from the strawberry shortcake one….IT’S MINE! Walmart is probably your best bet for new crib bedding. Im getting winnie the pooh (easy as hell to match everything with)
For spring and summer, you really don’t need much more than a fitted crib sheet and a light cotton blanket. If you want to really dress up the crib (when baby’s not in it for safety reasons) you can pick up a set at one of the discount baby superstores really cheap.
