Should I buy the crib bedding now or wait for someone to buy it for me?
I'm almost 12 weeks pregnant. I have already picked out all the crib bedding to buy for the nursery. Well, I didn't actually buy it yet, it is all registered as gifts I want for my baby shower. Most of the things I picked out are on clearance at Target. Should I just go ahead and purchase it myself, or ask my family to, so as not to risk it being sold out?
Ouch! If you want to make sure you get it, buy it yourself. Here is why. The reason the items were reduced in price and marked as clearance is because Target wants to get rid of them as quickly as possible to make room for other merchandise that is either better selling, or seasonal. In fact, when people and even other Target stores call, you always tell them the red ticket items first. So everyone at the store, and at all Target stores in your area, are working to get rid of the red ticket items as quickly as possible. Success is measured not in the profit margin of these items, but in how quickly they can be sold out.
So if you want the complete set and everything you asked for, you should buy it right now. I know you are thinking of your family and friends and so you are picking the cheapest items possible to save them money, but in the future, try to stay away from putting clearance items on your gift registry. There is always a way around things like this. Here’s what you should do. Buy it now and keep it in the box (do not open it) and keep the receipt. After your baby shower, if someone buys it for you, you return the original one you bought or the one that someone bought for you
Purchase the crib bedding now… Tell ur relos you already have it and ask for something else.
If you really want this bedding, I would just purchase it, especially if its on clearance. Just because your having a shower, doesnt mean you can’t buy some of items yourself prior to it. You can always put matching items, wall decoration, or blankets on your registry. I had two baby showers and no one bought my crib bedding.
I would purchase it now. Most people dont purchase bedding sets for a shower gift, and the clearance stuff at target can all of a sudden vanish!
I counted on relatives to buy certain "important" items for me. They changed their mind on what they wanted to buy and I missed my chance to get it myself. I would buy it and that way too you can just check off another thing on the list.
I’d wait until after your shower. Or you could do what the other person said and take it back if someone buys it for you. I’d just wait though…you might like something better later in your pregnancy.
If you really want this particular bedding…go ahead and buy it…in case it does sell out, then you would be unhappy. Wehn you register for gifts…get a backup bedding on the list.
